PBS Michiana is launching a digital showcase to celebrate the diverse voices, stories, and talent across our region. We are inviting local artists, writers, photographers, and creators to submit their work for a feature on our website explore pbs michiana.

Whether you are an established creator or exploring your talents for the first time, we want to share your perspective with the Michiana community.

Selection Process: This is a curated showcase, not a contest. Our digital team will review submissions on a rolling basis to select pieces that align with our community standards and platform layout.

What We Are Looking For

We are accepting original pieces across multiple creative mediums:

* Visual Art & Photography: Digital art, paintings, illustrations, or high-quality photographs capturing local life, landscapes, abstract concepts, or personal expressions.

* Poetry & Prose: Short-form poetry, micro-fiction, creative non-fiction, or personal essays.

* Short Writing Forms: Flash fiction, community reflections, observations, or brief anecdotes.

Submission Guidelines

1. Format Requirements

* Written Work: Must be submitted as text (Word document or Google Doc. Max 500 words for prose/short writing; no length limit for poetry.

* Visual Work: High-resolution digital files (JPEG or PNG format). Recommended minimum width of 1200 pixels.

2. Eligibility & Themes

* Who can submit: Open to all residents, students, and creators within the PBS Michiana viewing region, including PBS Michiana staff, 18 years and older.

* Themes: We welcome all themes, especially those reflecting community, resilience, local heritage, changing seasons, or personal journeys. All submissions must be family-friendly and suitable for a public broadcasting audience.

3. Artist Information

With your submission, please include:

* Your full name (or pen name/pseudonym)

* Your town or city of residence

A brief bio (*50-100 words**)

* (Optional) Links to your personal website or professional social media handles

Artist Ownership & Station Fundraising

You retain 100% ownership and copyright of your work. By submitting, you grant PBS Michiana a non-exclusive license to feature your work on our website, email newsletters, and official social media channels.*

• While we do not have specific plans at this time, we may explore future fundraising initiatives to support the station’s programming—such as a printed community anthology or special station merchandise featuring selected works. Participation in these fundraising efforts is completely optional. Submitting your work for our website showcase does not obligate you to participate in future product creation. If we do move forward with a fundraising project using your work, we will contact you directly to establish a separate, formal opt-in agreement.
